IN SEARCH OF THE ULTIMATE CHALLENGE: THE AÏCHA DES GAZELLES RALLY
To validate this retrofit process under extreme conditions, the well-known Aïcha des Gazelles Rally, a RUN FUN event, was the obvious choice.
This is no ordinary race: it is a technical, human and environmental challenge that perfectly embodies the values of the RUN FUN project – technical validation at an ISO 9001-certified rally.
Why this competition?
RUN FUN builds on the relationship of trust forged with the RAG since 1998. A shared vision and a common commitment. XAP brings all its technological expertise and the strength of its teams to the project.
An exceptional setting: the Moroccan desert, with its dunes, rocks, camel grass and steep slopes, provides the backdrop for a demanding, all-female competition centred on navigation and endurance.
A powerful symbol: beyond performance, the rally is also a statement of commitment. Through the Cœur de Gazelles charity, it combines humanitarian action, women’s sport and environmental responsibility. The same must apply to the vehicles taking part.
An aligned philosophy: no GPS, no speed. A return to basics where every kilometre counts — ideal for assessing the real-world range of electric vehicles and a return to eco-driving.
A suitable technical platform: the robust and accessible Toyota RAV4 is perfectly compatible with our electric retrofit solution.
Finally, the technological confidence gained in 2024 thanks to XAP enabled RUN FUN to negotiate the participation of the two retrofitted teams in the internal combustion engine category in order to put the concept’s quality to the test.
The 2025 Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles provided an opportunity to prove that this technology is ready to face real-world challenges — and to challenge preconceived notions.
