A solution born from a real operational need

The development of the NOMAD B20 started with a very specific challenge.
Working in partnership with RunFun, XAP Technology was asked to design a solution capable of charging an entire fleet of electric vehicles during the Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles in Morocco. The challenge was significant: provide reliable, high-power charging at the bivouac, in a completely off-grid environment.
This requirement led us to rethink how electrical power could be delivered in the field.
The result is the NOMAD B20: a mobile solution that combines a high-capacity EV charging station with a fully transportable mobile power plant.

The real challenge isn’t energy… it’s power

When people talk about electric mobility, the conversation usually focuses on vehicle range.
In the field, reality is different.

The real challenge is often having high electrical power available exactly where it is needed, exactly when it is needed.
An entire fleet returning at the end of the day.
A temporary event.
A remote construction site.
An operational base.
An industrial facility facing temporary peak demand.

In all these situations, the existing electrical infrastructure is often unavailable, insufficient, or simply impossible to upgrade within the required timeframe.
The NOMAD B20 has been designed as a mobile power plant to provide that additional power capacity.

A complementary solution to existing infrastructure

The NOMAD B20 is not intended to replace permanent charging infrastructure.
Whenever a fixed installation is available and properly sized, it remains the most appropriate long-term solution.
However, when the grid is unavailable, lacks sufficient capacity, or when temporary power is required, the NOMAD B20 provides a fast and flexible alternative—without major civil works or modifications to the existing electrical installation.

This makes it particularly suitable for:

More than an EV charging station

The NOMAD B20 goes far beyond vehicle charging.

Designed for the harshest environments

Developing a solution for the Moroccan desert means designing for some of the toughest operating conditions.
Extreme temperatures.
Sand.
No electrical infrastructure.
Complex logistics.

Meeting these challenges resulted in a robust and reliable solution suitable for many other demanding environments.
Today, the NOMAD B20 supports applications ranging from events and industry to local authorities and temporary operations requiring high electrical power.

At XAP Technology and RunFun, we believe the future of energy infrastructure will be more flexible.
Permanent installations will continue to play a key role.
